I'm wired to have a great show. I've been playing French horn for over a decade. I've done the Beethoven, and I've done the Mozart. I love it all. I was on a flight to an audition when I was struck with an idea that couldn't be answered with the classical French Horn repertoire. I needed more. 

So began an incredible relationship with me and my computer, named Stan (He's the Man). My journey has taken me into the depths of synthesis, equalizers, reverb, loops, some downright evil chocolate, a techno breakdown of some Purcell trumpet music and much more.

I love collaborating with amazing artists of all types. People are at their best when they have found their true creative self, and my true creative self is working with horn and electronics near other amazing art. I've done guided musical tastings at wineries and breweries, joint chamber music concerts, musical settings of photographer's best work and more!

Working with Horn and Electronics gives me incredible power and complexity that I can use to tell any story in any location about any topic. I love finding great art to play about. I love telling a story.

soloist, chamber musician

In graduate school and at my position with the United States Navy, I nurtured a love of chamber music. As a French horn player, I've performed in brass ensembles of all sizes, woodwind quintets, trios, duos, and so many other types of chamber ensembles. 

I've worked with many groups as a featured soloist or principal player, and I find electricity (real and metaphorical) in working with artists as a soloist or chamber collaborator.

​Am I a "hornvangelist"? Definitely. I love how it sounds, I love how it looks, and I love how it feels to play this amazing instrument.

Teaching makes me come alive and I find true joy in helping students of all ages and ability levels find their comfort and love for the horn. 

Music is nothing if you can't find the love in your own sound, and when it comes to the horn, problem solving is key. I approach teaching with a commitment to task analysis and problem solving, allowing me to cut through the confusion and help you find your horn voice.

I teach privately and have conducted masterclasses and clinics all around the United States, including Hawaiʻi and Alaska! I've taught all ages and experience levels and I would love to help you or your students at the middle, high, or university level.
